Alex left
Canada years and years ago and has done all sorts of jobs over the years.
But the happiest times she's had in life have been when making and creating
things. So, when they (her boyfriend and her) decided to move back to
Germany, after spending the last two years in Cardiff, UK, she decided
to give it a go full time.
She found
inspiration for her bags from her sister Cynthia who is an impressive
artist. She is based in Quebec, Canada and specializes in silk screen
prints and has been making and selling bags for years. Her sister didn't
mind that she started using her patterns as she knew that Alex would
modify them and make them her own. It is actually quite surprising how
different their styles are and this was obvious right from the very
first bag.
She now
has her own workshop at home and finds inspiration for each bag simply
by looking at the different materials, colours and trying different
things out until she feels they look good. She likes adding ribbons,
buttons and colourful stitching to make them that much more special.
She loves happy colours like pink and orange. And loves making the insides
a little funky and fun, she feels it makes wearing the bag that much
more special. It's a fun and exciting feeling knowing that the inside
is freaky and somewhat cool; especially when you're the only one who
knows about it!
She is
very proud of the fact that no two bags are the same, it's so hard to
find things that not everyone else is wearing these days. So she thought
it would be a nice and refreshing idea to offer one-of-a-kind originals!
